Content Policy

Allowed/prohibited listings, moderation standards, and penalties.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

FRIDAYSOUQ is a marketplace for people and businesses in Kuwait. This Content Policy sets out what may and may not be published or sent on FRIDAYSOUQ. It applies to listings, photos, videos, Shorties, stories, commercial ads, profiles, messages and offers. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.

1. What every listing needs

  • A real item, property, vehicle, job or service that you have the right to offer and that is available in Kuwait.
  • The correct category, a clear title and an honest description, condition and price.
  • Your own photos or videos of the actual item. Stock images, images taken from other listings, and edited images that hide defects or mislead are not allowed.
  • One listing per item. Do not publish duplicates or repost the same item to push it up.
  • Contact through FRIDAYSOUQ chat or the contact options you enable. Do not put phone numbers, links or social media handles inside photos or videos.

2. Prohibited items and services

You may not list or advertise:

  • anything illegal to sell or own in Kuwait;
  • alcohol, pork products, narcotics, psychoactive substances, and tools for making or using them;
  • tobacco and tobacco products, e-cigarettes, and vaping liquids and devices;
  • weapons of any kind, licensed or unlicensed, ammunition, explosives, fireworks and military or police equipment;
  • medicines, aphrodisiacs, unlicensed medical products, and products with unproven health claims (Law No. 38 of 2002 regulating the advertising of health-related products);
  • gambling, lotteries, betting and games of chance, and witchcraft or sorcery;
  • adult or sexual content, sexual services, escort services and sex toys;
  • counterfeit, replica or pirated goods, and anything that infringes a trademark or copyright;
  • stolen goods, and goods whose serial numbers or identifiers have been removed or changed;
  • residence permits, visas and sponsorship offered for sale, and the sale or rental of commercial licences;
  • subsidised ration goods and other goods the State supplies at a supported price;
  • official documents, identity papers, licences, number plates sold without the proper procedure, uniforms, and forged or blank certificates;
  • human organs and body fluids;
  • endangered plants and animals listed in the CITES convention, illegally imported animals and their parts, and any sale that is cruel to animals;
  • hazardous, recalled or unsafe products;
  • bank accounts, SIM cards registered to other people, user accounts, personal data and contact lists;
  • bugging devices and anything that incites the misuse of telephone devices (Law No. 9 of 2001), hacking tools, spyware, jamming devices and services meant to break the law;
  • paying off debts and cashing, pyramid and get-rich-quick schemes, unlicensed investment, partnership or lending offers, and currency or crypto trading schemes;
  • furnished apartments rented by the hour or by the day, except from companies licensed to do so;
  • lawyers advertising themselves for self-promotion or to acquire clients;
  • domestic workers of every kind, false employment offers, hiring labour to homes by the hour, and any content that treats a person as goods.

3. Regulated categories

Some items and services may be offered only by people who hold the right licence or approval from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry or another competent authority in Kuwait, for example real estate brokerage, vehicle trade, recruitment, craft works and professional services, health, food and financial services. In these categories we may ask you to confirm your authorisation, sign a declaration or verify your identity before your listing is published. Signing a declaration never makes prohibited content allowed.

4. Prohibited behaviour

  • Fraud of any kind: fake listings, fake payment confirmations, advance-fee requests, phishing links and requests for verification codes.
  • Hate speech, and content that offends God, the prophets or religion, the Amir or the State, or that insults any person or group because of who they are.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, sexual advances and unwanted contact after being asked to stop.
  • Content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. We report it to the authorities.
  • Violence, gore and content that promotes self-harm or terrorism.
  • Publishing another person's private information, photos or documents without permission.
  • Impersonating a person, business, authority or FRIDAYSOUQ staff.
  • Spam, misleading keywords, and manipulating views, ratings, rewards or search position.

5. Photos, videos and Shorties

  • Show the item itself. Do not include other people's faces, number plates of other vehicles, documents or private information unless you have permission.
  • No nudity, violence, shocking images, or music and footage you do not have the right to use.
  • Video and audio must match the listing or ad they belong to.

6. Commercial ads

Businesses must advertise truthfully. An ad must clearly identify the business, describe a real offer, show real prices and conditions, and follow the advertising, consumer protection and licensing rules of Kuwait. Offers, discounts and prize draws must hold any licence the Ministry of Commerce and Industry requires. Comparative claims, health claims and "best" or "cheapest" claims must be provable. The advertiser is responsible for the ad and for delivering what it promises.

7. How we review content

We review content with automated tools, including AI, and with human reviewers, before and after publication. A listing may be published automatically, held for review, sent back to you for correction, or rejected with a reason. AI may suggest or flag, but decisions on high-risk content are not left to AI alone.

8. Reporting and blocking

  • Report a listing or commercial ad from its page, and report or block a user from the chat.
  • We aim to review reports within 24 hours. Content that breaks this policy is removed, and the user who posted it may be removed from FRIDAYSOUQ.
  • Reports are confidential. We do not tell the other person who reported them.

9. What happens when the rules are broken

Depending on how serious and how repeated the violation is, we may edit a category, reduce visibility, reject or remove content, cancel a promotion without refund, restrict features, suspend an account or close it permanently, and inform the competent authorities where the law requires it.

10. Appeals

If you think we made a mistake, contact support with the listing or ad reference and your explanation. A member of our team will review the decision.

11. Staying safe

Meet in a safe public place, inspect the item before paying, and keep your conversation inside FRIDAYSOUQ chat. Never pay in advance to someone you do not know, and never share a verification code, password or card details. FRIDAYSOUQ staff will never ask you for them.
